Ministries

Resurrection is an oratory parish that strives to live into the baptismal covenant which calls all Christians to love and serve the Lord and all human beings.

Mission and Ministry: How we make Christ known in the world

Since the earliest days of the Church God's people are called to be the hands of Christ, the feet of Christ, the eyes of Christ, the ears and heart of Christ.  Our ministry efforts seek to continue that vocation locally here in Tampa Bay and across the globe.

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Matthew 25:40

Our Ministries

Ministries 1

Anglicans for Life

We are dedicated to the sanctity of human life at every stage of existence. AFL is a national network through which we act on our commitment. Locally we support expectant and new mothers and their babies by providing clothing, food, diapers, and other necessities to Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center.

Hope for the Hungry

Increasingly in our world food security is an issue for young and old, haves and have-nots, as people's circumstances can change in an instant.  Meeting the needs of the hungry at Resurrection is led by our deacons, organizing food supplies for 2 food pantries and a homeless shelter.  Our parish community participates through food donations and gifts in kind.  To participate in this ministry contact one of our deacons.

Liturgical Ministries

Serving the Lord in the beauty of holiness around His altar has long been a high value in the Anglican tradition; laity and clergy are called to serve together at the altar through the ministries of acolyte, lector, altar guild, verger, and usher.  Please click link below if you are interested in these ministries.

Ministries 2

Mothers’ Union

An organization founded in England but now spanning the globe in 84 countries, the Mothers’ Union builds resilience, challenges prejudice and advocates for change, largely related to mothers and families. Our local branch works with refugee families new to the Tampa area, spreading God’s love through Christian faith in action.

Music Ministry

Resurrection is committed to fostering a Traditional Anglican music ministry.  We seek to embrace our  rich heritage of liturgical music, including hymns, service music, and organ voluntaries, all designed to enhance worship and offer a profound spiritual experience.

For more information contact Christopher Woodard our Music Minister.

Recovery Ministries

Resurrection is a host for those seeking recovery from alcoholism and families affected by it.  Monday's Friday's and Saturday's provide opportunities for those affecte3d by alcohol abuse to find a community of recovery for those in need.

Refugee Ministry

Fr. Gabriel Ipasu is a regionally recognized leader in refugee resettlement and pioneers this ministry for both Resurrection Parish and the Anglican Union. Support for this ministry includes:

assisting families who have been resettled from regions in crisis. Though physically safe, they often live on the margins. Resurrection befriends this community with baby showers, back-to-school drives, Christmas parties and presents, and fresh food for displaced people seeking to build new lives in Tampa Bay.

Small Groups

Small group ministry is designed to build community for those who come to Resurrection from different regions of Tampa Bay. The purpose is fellowship, formation, care and support, and vision for ministry.  By coming together on a regulare basis, members of the parish, through discussion a meal and prayers can forge new ministries for their group and Resurrection at large.  Contact one the clergy for a group near you.

Stephen Ministries

Stephen was one of the first deacons who served the early church by offering pastoral care. Stephens ministers are laity trained to provide personal pastoral care to those coping with the changes and chances of life such as grief, divorce, job loss, illness, and relocation.  We are one of 14,000 parishes who have trainee Steven ministers available.   Contact Kurt Anderson at the link below.
